 We sigh instead of sing
Hey all,
Another rainy day (sigh) . Usually residents of chennai love to see the rain, this has been the story of the past years. But now it is annoying! Now we have abundant amount of water to drink and no more water scarcity, but the thing is we don't want more rain this year. The most affected people are the farmers and businessmen who lost their harvests and goods by the floods caused by the rains...Ah cyclones all the time.. I want to see sunshine soon! I CANT TAKE THIS ANY LONGER!!!!! I cant go outside 24 hrs rain ! And the city is yetch!! Dumpster! Muddles and garbage everywhere ewww...

Many lives have been lost yesterday in chennai...To be exact 42 people were killed and several other severely injured when a stampede of people. It has been reported about 4000 people were assembled to get flood relief materials from the government. Rain and poor lighting facilities in the area added to the chaos. The tragedy occurred around 4 a.m. as people pushed at the gate of the school in the belief that distribution of tokens was about to begin. Although officials had announced that the distribution would begin only at 9 a.m., people started queuing up outside the school from 9 p.m previous night !

As there was a concrete slope at the entrance, those at the head of the queue slipped and fell. People stumbled over one another. The rush did not stop, and the gate was again closed with great difficulty. By then several people had been crushed to death or seriously injured....

Again today another flood relief center....no stampede this time but it was awfully crowded... The only problem is they are not properly organized...I dont know when people learn to be organized so that such disasters can be minimized.

 People are fooled .....
Due to the heavy rainfall, the cricket match in chepauk cricket stadium in chennai, has been abandoned...The real losers here are the spectators...They have paid a lot of money for buying tickets and the ticket counters are not willing to refund the money since the match is not going to take place...All the people are furious and feel cheated. This is not right on the part of the stadium, they should atleast refund half the amount of the tickets...Now there is no use complaining about it , people knew there would be rainfall and inspite of that they have bought the tickets. I was going to one of my clients office near the stadium yesterday and on my way I saw people tearing down posters near the counters and throwing plastic water bottles inside the stadium...I even heard a man yelling "This is robbery on broad day light !". Lucky me, they stopped with that ! Or else I would have been caught between angry spectators and who knows what might have happened to me if they start a riot or something ! It is been heard that they wantedly scheduled the matches during rain as they can make money without even hosting a match and saving the hosting expenses... I don't know how far this is true.

I would advise people not to waste time trying to buy tickets to watch a cricket match, mainly during the rainy season. There is just no use of feeling sorry after losing money like this. My grandpa keeps telling me this.... 'The fault is not on the cheaters, its on the people who are being knowingly getting fooled"
